Golf Tournament: Reduced Price through May 1!
NOW is the time to register by May 1 for this year's golf tournament and receive a reduced rate. This event is shaping up to be loads of fun, so don't wait - REGISTER TODAY!
The 11th Hawks Booster Club and Alumni Golf Tournament on Friday, May 31
- A four-player Florida Scramble at Bear Creek Golf Club near DFW Airport.
- Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.
- Shotgun Start at 1:30 p.m.
- Dinner at 6:00 p.m.
- Before May 1: $150/adult and $120/student.
- After May 1: $175/adult and $140/student.
- Entry fee includes greens fees, cart, range balls and dinner.
- Dinner-only tickets may be purchased for $20 on the registration page.
- Proceeds benefit the Colin Stone '13 and Tom Hillary Scholarship Funds.
Dallas Happy Hour - Wednesday, May 1
Please join the Alumni Association Board for happy hour Wednesday, May 1, after 5:00 p.m. at Katy Trail Ice House (3136B Routh Street). This is a casual event with no official program. Drop by and stay for a while, or just stop in to say hello. Spouses and friends are welcome too! For more information, contact George Cruz at george@jmsoralsurgery.com.
Nominations for Alumni Association Board Positions
We are accepting nominations for new members of the Cistercian Alumni Association Board. Barry McCain '02 will be the new President in 2013-2014, and Luis Barbero '91 will become the Immediate-past President. The Alumni Association Board is a wonderful way to get involved with the School.
The Board elections will take place at the Alumni Association meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, during Reunions Weekend. All alumni are welcome to attend and vote. Please nominate yourself or a fellow alumnus by sending an email to Erin Hart at ehart@cistercian.org.
Current board members are Vice-President for Development, Joel Schubert '02;
Vice-President for Communications, Brent Hogan '00; Vice-President for Events,
George Cruz '91; and Advocate, Michael Kurilecz '71.
All of these positions are re-seatable and open for discussion.
Reunions Weekend: May 31-June 2
Reunions Weekend is coming soon, May 31-June 2. Official Class Reunions will be held for'73, '78, '83, '88, '93, '98, '03, and '08, so get in touch with your class agent to find out about your class's events.
All alumni, their families, and alumni parents are welcome to attend all events to be held on Saturday and Sunday at the School.

First Cistercian Alumni Literary Anthology--Call for Submissions
Among Cistercian alums are many excellent writers. To celebrate the writing life, Cistercian, under the auspices of the English Department, plans to produce the first ever literary anthology devoted solely to the work of Cistercian alumni.
The submission deadline is July 31, 2013. We are looking for poems, short fiction, and essays. Submissions can be sent directly to gnied@cistercian.org. Please include contact information.
